ASEH sometimes partners with NGOs, government agencies, and companies to offer students paid summer internships in environmental history. The objective is to pair interns with ASEH scholars and to gain experience in outreach and interaction with partners outside the college setting. Recent projects have included the following:
2012 - 2014 historical research on national parks in Hawai‘i (partnered with National Park Service), Hawai‘i
2015 archival project processing conservation biology records (partnered with Smithsonian Institution), Washington, DC area
2016 mobile app project researching and providing content on historical sites (partnered with Three21 Innovations), Seattle
2016 national park research and report to provide historical context for congressional appropriations (partnered with National Parks Conservation Association), Seattle
