ASEH offers a variety of benefits to environmental scholars, including annual awards for the best book, article, and dissertation in environmental history.  We organize annual conferences that bring together historians, geographers, scientists, and other scholars -- and we award annual travel grants and a minority grant to fund participation in our annual conferences. We also give two annual research fellowships. Our journal, Environmental History, published by Oxford University Press, is described in the "Publications" section of this website.

4 for 40 campaign

ASEH announces its 4 for 40 campaign, which will build over four years and culminate in the Society’s 40th anniversary in 2017.

The 4 for 40 goal is to ensure that excellence in scholarship is rewarded; that our intellectual legacy is maintained through the next generation of scholars; that we remain connected to each other and the larger environmental community in this global, digital age; and that the Society is strengthened so it can meet the many needs of its members.
